[three things]
1. um...i wore this outfit kinda recently but with different shoes.  annnnd i still like it. and will probably combine this top and vest again sometime soon-ish.  

2. these shoes get a lot of comments at work whenever i wear them because the spikes look a bit threatening.  considering that i am super (sometimes fake) nice all the time at work, maybe it's a good thing to be a lil bit intimidating every once in awhile.  

3. we recently got a new camera body and i haven't quite figured everything out yet, so my photo quality has been kinda all over the map lately.  i think i had just gotten used to the quirks of our old camera, bruce.  maybe the new guy just needs an official name.  i thought about "bryce" since it's almost "bruce" and then my sister suggested "bryce springsteen".  love it.

[three things]
1. this skirt gets described as "fierce" whenever i wear it to work.  so that was $22 well spent at target.

2. i have to be careful not to get too close to any direct light sources while wearing this sweater because it turns into a gold disco ball and blinds people.  

3. this crazy combination is making the rounds at some linkups: mix and match fashion and pleated poppy.

professional: this is definitely a more casual look, but for a day with no fancy meetings, the neutral flats and collared shirt did the trick.

dotty, old circles, and problematic outfits

i was doing some file cleanup last week and found a bunch of outfits from april that never made it onto the bloggy mcblogerson.  since it's totes june now, i figured i would bunch them all together and post 'em since they were already cropped into circles anyway.

i wore this right before we left to prep for the wedding to test out how my honeymoon wardrobe fared for a day of walking.  walking for an hour to do some errands is a bit different than sightseeing for twelve, so these boots were not really cut out for the latter but i wore them a few times on the trip anyway.

i wore this to work, but it was kinda a bit too scatter-brained for me.  crazy color combination AND patterned pajama-like pants AND tall shoes AND an easter egg purse.  this photo makes me want to wear this jacket again soon though.

i thought this too short dress (seen as a dress in this old post) could work with pants, but the result was just a bit too bulky.  and i always feel awkward standing in the street for photos.  blerggh.

1. new dress!  yay!  this knee-length sack definitely requires tall shoes and a belt, but i really like that it's longer than pretty much all of my other dresses.
2. this white jacket will never, ever see a construction site, but it's perfect for days in the office.  
3. i thought i was being super sassy with my punchy, bright red nails, but then i noticed at yoga that all three girls to my left also had red nails.  so yeah, apparently eeeeerbody is in on this.

[three things]
1. i wore this yesterday to present my interior design process to a group of high school teachers going on a firm tour.  it was definitely a day when i needed to look the part of a grownup.  the best part was that my co-worker/co-talker also wore a simple sheath dress, so we looked super coordinated!

2. i made a forever21 order of trendy accessories ONLY and i am super happy with all my purchases.  i usually regret buying actual clothes from there since they never make it out of the dryer alive, but summer scarves and shiny new earrings are an awesome pick-me-up.

i snapped back into work mode pretty quickly after our big vacation, but i've resolved to push the limits a bit more with wearing what i want to work rather than what i feel like i should wear. there are definitely times where i've got to put on a suit and not make robot noises, but luckily that's not too often.
