remember when i learned to use circular knitting needles and made a huge orange cowl? well, it turns out that i am terrible at translating yarn skeins into knit objects, so i ended up with approximately twice as much yarn as i needed.
and then i decided to just knit my cowl a twin.
but i can only wear one large knit object around my neck at a time.
so you should enter to win it!
and then we can be orange-necked bloggy twins.

ReplyDeleteWe don't get much snow in my area, but a couple of years ago when we had a big storm my friends and I called it the snowventure days. They were good days.

Sno-bliteration? I'm not accustomed to having to deal with snow in such quantities (lucky me!) but it does get rainy and cold so that cowl would be divine!!

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever wanted to win a giveaway more. I am so desperately in love with A) that color orange and B) cowl scarves. And I don't even OWN a cowl scarf. MUCH LESS AN ORANGE ONE. The capital letters prove my sincerity.
ReplyDeleteand I cheated on the funny blizzard name and just asked a much funnier friend who is sitting here. Without a beat, she said,"Snowtorious B.I.G."

I'm a follower and I would love to be your bloggy twin! Hmmm, well I live in Kansas so it may be totally cheesy/appropriate/ridiculous if I call it the Blizzard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteshealennon@gmail.com
I follow you via google reader and agree that Snowpocalypse, as well as snowmagedon are over played. I personally have been naming it a snocation because I'm getting a vacation from the snow!
ReplyDeletefashiontherapist@gmail.com
I'm a follower and I think that cowl would look fabulous one me! {if I do say so myself}
ReplyDeleteI don't have a name for the storm... but I do have a term for what everyone suffers from when they run to the grocery and prepare to stay inside for days when there's the threat of snow. It's called, "snowchosis". Like psychosis but with snow. Get it? Get it? :)

And I call my back a wreck from shoveling it today.
dotty, i follow your blog on google reader and love it, and i love that cowl! i had my sister knit me my first cowl for christmas, but i like the looser pattern you used. :) when we had a huge snowfall in MN a couple months ago i called it snowmageddon, but lots of other people here have come up with funnier terms!

Snowmageddon is probably my favorite! And the cowl is kind of tugging at my heartstrings, if that helps my brownie/giveaway points.

Love that cowl - I've been wanting one but am not so handy with the knitting needles.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've got nothing on the blizzard... while we're having a snowier than average winter while I live, we've thankfully avoided any blizzards.
Just found your blog...hope I'm not too late to enter! (I'm a follower!) hmmm...a name for a blizzard? Well, I guess you're getting slizzerd like a G6...if a Gulfstream six made of snow disintegrated on top of you.
