on a midwestern roadtrip.  we didn't buy fireworks here, but we did manage to fill up our gas tank, donate the two bags of clothes that have been haunting our backseat, and taking these photos all in one parking lot.  multi-tasking for the win!

last week i flew off to nevada to spend time with my sister's adorable family, eat icecream, and jump on hotel beds. because the trip sounded so awesome, the boy decided to come along, except his goals were to spend time with a stack of adorable poker chips, eat peanutbutter icecream, and jump on hotel beds.  

oh, and it was cold.  like not pool weather.  and it rained.

i'm spending a bit of time, post-graduation, to catch up on life and such before i re-start my life as a grown-up. my first stop was a class trip to the upper peninsula of michigan to relax with a whole bunch of my classmates.

1. there's been an ominous watermelon hanging around the house for the last month

2. you cannot bring fruit into california (there's a whole inspection stop where uniformed officers interrogate you with hard-hitting questions like "do you have any fruit?")

3. the boy knew of a railroad overpass just outside jean, nevada

we squeezed in a trip to the pacific northwest between our midwest-southwest roadtrip and starting our summer jobbies. the food was absolutely amazing....lark and molly moon's and serious pie and breakfasts at citizen and complimentary miniature pineapple cupcakes at the hotel.  nommmmm.
